As part of our mission to preserve the history of the Green Bay & Western, the GBWHS is making a number of speeches and interviews available to historians and GBW fans.

Mike Geurts, GBW's last Manager of Locomotives

Mr. Geurts spoke at the GBWHS's Annual Meeting on April 26, 2014. He talked about the difficulty of finding Alco parts; Alco electrical systems; his favorite locomotive; putting the Hornells in service; the ex-LS&I Alligators; bringing outside work into Norwood Shops; secondhand shop equipment; the RS20 program; the GBW's locomotive maintenance schedule; donating C430 315 to the National Railroad Museum; Alcos after the GBW; Chrome Crankshaft S6 1201; working with the C&NW; his career change from locomotives to ships; and saying goodbye to the GBW.
